CEMI news May 27th, 2008 3.Seminar : Education of public officials about the conflict of interest

Monitoring Center CEMI has started the realization of the project called "Education of public representatives about the conflict of interest " with the cooperation of Commission for the Prevention Conflict of Interest. The Center for Monitoring CEMI in 2005 has started first project dedicated to fight against the conflict of interest , within the programme of good governance, so the present project is a continuation of the previously mentioned one.

Considering the fact that the conflict of interest is an everyday seen situation in almost every sphere of life, not only in legal, but in the ethical sense as well, as the base of this project CEMI has set the rising of awareness on the necessity of providing adequate protection of public interests.

The main goal of this project is pointed in the direction of decreasing the level of corruption in public service through the education of state administratives about the conflict of interest , as well as in the improvement of the access to the informations about the incomes of the same. Following the thought to realize the main goal, CEMI will enforce the implementation of the Law about the Conflict of Interest through the education of the State administratives about the obligations and duties they have according the Law.

During the ten months period, as much as the project is going to last, the State administratives will, through seminars and working groups, have the chance to identify the concept and situations of conflict of interest, as well as the ways of resolving or removing them. That's how they would be adequately informed and prepared for the efficient Law appliance.
